Who Wants to Model the US?

The shining city on the hill isn't attractive, and all the US bombs and all the US men can't put the nation back together again.

Perhaps there was a time when the world marveled at the US, but that moment is gone if it ever existed. After the USSR collapsed and the US violently won the ideological war (the Cold War), nothing was left but to begrudgingly comply. American capitalism defeated the global working-class revolts, not because it was superior, but by force and default.

After exterminating peasants, US-backed, undemocratic capitalist politicians handed their nations' resources to the flourishing and diminishing empires. They received lucrative payments in offshore accounts and agreed to IMF loans instead of domestic prosperity, while wealthy landowners retained their high-income positions managing foreign ventures. Everyone except the majority was happy.

Meanwhile, the US ran its country like a business, marketing itself as an exceptional product and using its culture to win over the globe. This tricked the world into favoring US capitalism, and the media sold American exceptionalism to the public, but no one is attracted to the current state of the empire.
