When Did We Give Up?
As Covid kills thousands of people every day and the transfer of wealth accelerates, the United States won’t unite.
We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union have confused the concepts of freedoms and inalienable rights with individual extremism. The bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 was the last time Americans were truly united, and for the last 79 years there has been nothing united about the United States. It would be a stretch to claim 9/11 had the same effect as Pearl Harbor and WWII. September 11th was more shocking than unifying, and the War on Terror partnered with the unpatriotic Patriot Act to avenge the deaths, further widened the large cracks dividing the nation; you’re either with us or against us.
The government-led witch hunt advocating Americans report anyone expressing left leaning ideals to the authorities to save the country from the evils of communism assisted with the alienation, but the distrust in the US began when it started. Most delegates voted in favor of independence from Great Britain, yet the delegates from New York abstained, and the 20% of the population remaining loyal to the king fought against the rebels. Then, there’s the Civil War, but this is self-explanatory and a tad excessive to point out the estranged values that led to killing one…
