We created a world built on belief, yet we don't believe we could create a civilization that fulfills genuine emotional and physical needs. It baffles me.
Belief in fiat currencies, diamonds, brand names, properties, etc., manifest values because we assigned worth to them, but they aren't authentic.
You're correct; we can create it when we imagine it. We've already proved our imaginary capabilities but lack the leadership to drive the vision. Information overloads us with data and facts, suppressing the space to imagine another world.
We've become spectators watching history instead of participants actively constructing our reality, and the disempowerment and disengagement depress us. We need a shared vision to feel a meaningful connection to our lives and environment, and this isn't a novel concept.
Collectivism enabled our survival, and individualism destroyed us. Imagining the world we could create keeps me going. It's too depressing otherwise.
There are plenty of books, and I struggle to sit at a computer. Ha. Ecotopia is an excellent 1970s sci-fi that portrays a society constructed around the environment and humanity. I recently recommended it to Michael Campi and believe it's a great start to sparking our ideas.
We deserve so much better than this horrific mess.
