US capitalists and their government dream of dissecting Russia and China into smaller, controllable states. When the US aided Yeltsin to power that was the plan, but he sold the USSR's public goods to Russian instead of Western capitalists, defying US interests.

When Western capitalists realized Putin wouldn't be a puppet it crushed their free-market Russian dreams. Putin hoped to join the West as an equal, but the US and friends wanted total control of Russia's resources (like in Latin America, Africa, and Asia).

By the 1970s, the US/West knew fossil fuels would destroy the climate while the oil crisis demonstrated the urgency for energy independence, but the capitalists decided to double down. Instead of pursuing alternatives like nuclear, they chose to get their money's worth of fossil fuels, and here we are.

That BS climate bill Manchin finally signed, allows more drilling because we have no intentions of ending our fossil fuel addiction. We will use every drop, and watch the world burn. That's our future.

PS the emotional reaction is irrational and manufactured. The control the media has over the public has never scared me as much as it did this time around. I finally understood how states manipulate the public into conducting horrendous acts, and it terrifies me.
