Trans endure violence, threats, discrimination, hate speech, etc., but it baffles me that less than 1% (roughly) of the global population receives more attention than larger, disadvantaged groups, like the homeless (2%).
Who decides the hierarchy of social issues and needs? How do topics become mainstream talking points?
The trans rights movement seeks inclusivity and acceptance, yet some activists forcefully pressure society to conform to or adopt objectives and publicly shame and silence those who object. This obstructs solidarity and creates resentment, which increases divisions.
Furthermore, should the state force religions like Islam to incorporate gender neutral prayer rooms? Are non-Muslims in a position to enforce this?
