Totally. I agree the elite shouldn't get special privileges and the wealthy shouldn't be governing. Anyone who could afford to have their children tutored did, and teachers need protection too. Closing schools has been really hard on kids and parents, but across the globe, every nation closed schools. If you had public health advisors providing advice and the public's health to worry about, what would you have done?
Prior to the public getting wind of the recall, the campaign to oust Newsom had already begun. It began years ago, and I don't think Newsom is great, but I have a serious issue with the corporate media controlling the narrative to shift our opinion. For example, how do you know the article and photos of him eating out are legitimate? What if his outing was a lunch meeting? Weren't the restaurants closed?
The biggest issue was the lack of funds the Federal Government provided to the states. States cannot create money like the Federal Reserve and depend on the Fed Gov to supply them with funding. While governors told people to stay home, they had no funding to pay them to do so, and this is the heart of the injustice. If the Fed Gov provided adequate funding for students and parents to stay home, would your perception change?
Again, Newsom isn't fantastic, but I hate being misled and he doesn't deserve to be recalled. The next state election will provide new candidates with better options to choose from (hopefully), but this recall is just misplaced anger at our shit situation.
