"This generation will LOSE abortion rights forever because Dems didn't solve all problems (not that they could)."
The nation already lost this right, but many state elections reinstated reproduction rights. Congress would have to introduce and pass a bill for the president to sign into law, and this won't happen any time soon or ever.
"They at least passed a shitload of good things (including $1400 stimulus check)."
Biden did more for the working class than previous presidents, but the bar was low. I wonder if the election would have been different had he not ended the pandemic relief payments, which resulted in an exponential increase in poverty rates.
"There was the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill (creating millions of jobs) and the Inflation Reduction Act with needed climate mitigation funding."
The bill created temporary construction jobs, not an economic revolution that transformed livelihoods, and the IRA didn't stop Biden from leasing more gas contracts on public lands than any president in history.
The IRA implemented tariffs on European products and fostered renewable energy uptake but failed to address energy sources and US fossil fuel exports. Consuming more products is not a win for the climate, and capitalism's forever growth is destroying the planet. We need less, not more.
"People will get ZERO from the Trump administration over the next four years. In fact, THEIR future may be permanently fucked as the attacks on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the ACA begin. Voting rights will be restricted. Concentration Camps for the undocumented (and legal residents including citizens) will be set up."
Democrats and Republicans paraded billionaires to appeal to the impoverished masses and haven't done much for the public in decades. You admit the Republican's competency to minimize social benefits and the Democrat's failure to ensure them, which coincide with the public's powerlessness, disengagement, and desperation. Why are Republicans continuously successful and Democrats unsuccessful with their initiatives?
Concentration camps have existed in the US for decades, and Harris supported them as the Californian DA. My liberal state recently voted for modern-day slavery, authorizing prison labor and private prisons to profit off incarcerations. The media stopped reporting on the immigrants in cages when Biden took office, but it remains, and the Democrat's border policy was Trump's revamped idea.
"As if Trump would be better on Gaza and the Palestinians when he also brings back the Muslim ban."
Trump won't stop funding and aiding genocide because there's bipartisan agreement for Israel's slaughter. Still, Trump doesn't excuse Democrats. I empathize with voters who couldn't morally re-elect the party that ignored an overwhelming majority support for an arms embargo. Some Americans won't tolerate a genocidal and undemocratic government.
"These immature Gen Z people who voted for Trump will be digging out of a hole the rest of their lives now. But they sure showed those evil Dems!!"
We failed the young and should be ashamed. Perhaps young people became nihilistic when they witnessed our powerlessness to force gun restrictions, climate change mitigation, or financial security. They don't even have a hole to dig, and voting resulted in active shooting drills and a dystopia.
Revenge would be easier to stomach than the young generation's indifference, disengagement, and nihilism. They don't care or see a reason to care about anything, and we created this environment.
You can list millions of reasons to vote for the Democrats, but it's a waste of your energy and time. Listening, speaking, and empathizing with people who aren't in our income, age, racial, political, or social demographics would benefit everyone because aligning with our government instead of each other is not working for us.
Trump's presidency will be disastrous, but he spoke to the frustrations, anger, disappointment, and fear, and we ignored them. Hopefully, we recognize the warning before everyone's life worsens.
