There isn't a mass exodus of Californians. The rates of emigration haven't differed from pervious years. The myth appeared during the recall petition and it's untrue. I've posted the research link below, but someone manufactured a lot of myths during the recall petition.

Californians aren't responsible for the houisng prices across the nation. I wish they were because that'd be an easier issue to deal with. Housing prices exploded globally because the Fed Reserve pumped money into the domestic and global economies. The New Zealand Prime Minister declared a housing emergency to try to control the influx of private banks' reserves and low interest rates attracting too many buyers into the market.

The housing market explosion is our governments fault. They haven't funded affordable housing schemes in decades and diminished regulations.
