There are so many disgusting elements to the Texas law. After crying my eyeballs out, I realized the full intentions of this bill. Over 60% of Americans are pro-choice. This law is for a minority, and what kind of democracy is that? Most Republican politicians don't care about abortion. They're playing politics with people's lives, and creating more divides within the public by awarding a bounty to vigilantes.
Can't Congress include women's reproductive rights in the constitution? Isn't there anything we can do to end this for good? It's so damaging every time the topic surfaces. Ugh. I stupidly read random comments on a Facebook feed of men telling women to take the pill and I could have thrown stuff, but my temper has come a long way and I got off FB (that's a side note).
Also, my generation and younger have a weird thing against baby boomers (or maybe that's just in the media), but we need to continue the civil rights movement the boomers started. I'm just so tired of feeling like we're going backwards or nowhere.
Thanks for articulating the scope of this and posting. Maybe when I'm less erratic and angry, I'll be able to coherently write because right now, all I can do is jog like a psycho to Metallica and scream.
