The World Quietly Exits the American Century
The US poked the bear and woke a sleeping giant, coercing the Chinese government into geopolitics and another Cold War.
No one nominated a sole global hegemony or a reserve currency. The US gave itself those titles through brutal violence, suppressing potential contenders, an enormous military, economic warfare, isolating sanctions, and CIA operations. Nations tolerated the abuse because they were powerless, but the US’ unipolar reign is ending, and the world is escaping.
After WWII, the US seized Europe’s crown and colonies by initiating proxy wars against the weakened USSR and the decolonization movement. American oligarchs superseded European, and our government disguised imperialism to subdue the public. Americans perceive US foreign policy as a necessary evil because we believe our nation is moral, yet every country but the imperialist benefactors detest the global dictatorship.
Americans don’t realize our star-spangled democracy rose to the top by default, and violence maintains it because we don’t know anything about the world. Our government intentionally dumbs us down, but it’s our fault for stubbornly ignoring and denying undeniable allegations.
