The US owns/controls the central bank yet insists it must repay the money it borrowed from itself. It's absurd and offensive that this shit still occurs, but they get away with it because we don't understand our government's economic policies.

The Republicans assume their role as the bad cop, the Democrats play the good cop, and the public is the criminal accused of spending too much money on its dismal social benefits.

I wonder what they'll take from us this time; raise the retirement age, dissolve social security within this decade, eliminate unemployment payments, and cut funds to whatever public goods remain.

Democrats should demand that Republicans present their cases and negotiations to the public so that nothing happens behind closed doors because who knows wtf is happening.

I wouldn't be surprised if the retirement age increases and social security receives an expiration date. It's odd. One party always reaches its objectives, and we always lose. Perhaps there's no one representing the people because bad policies aren't reversed and only worsen.
