The two-party system and party worshipping hinder public critique and discourse of our government. Republicans/far-right and Democrats/liberals loyally believe in and admire their politicians, perpetuating divisions and identity politics.
The right perceives liberals as brainwashed and vice versa, but no one asks if everyone is brainwashed. Yet, both parties and media biases are corrupt if one is, and it persists because there isn't accountability.
Distrust evolved because our government created it and used fear to coerce the public into submission. Both parties detest socialism and support the same economic agenda, but we vote for a candidate, not policies, which generates political disengagement.
Would society believe such myths if at least one party was legitimately governing? Does their existence expose fundamental problems?
