The theory Russia intends to build a bridge to connect Crimea to Eastern Ukraine/New Russia, seems plausible now.

I heard Russia verbally agreed to a peace treaty if Ukraine stays neutral, but I'm not sure what was said about taking Eastern Ukraine. Hm.
