The research doesn't consider socializing valuable because it doesn't produce revenue, and Washington Post's statement excludes doctors, lawyers, and writers' social encounters. These professions interact with the community daily, and their work is naturally social. Doctors treat patients, lawyers defend clients, and writers produce material for society.

We are always socializing because we don't live in isolation, but capitalist culture deems revenue generation more valuable than social interactions. The study negates to examine the impact our socio-economic system has on society. People rarely develop ideas, tech, etc., for themselves. We create for society, and culture influences our creations. Everything we do is social.
