The rentiers killed millions with the help of the US government, and they didn't treat Americans who couldn't afford medications any better.

I was in high school and lived in Los Angeles when an HIV-positive man protested his health coverage by parking his car and lighting himself on fire on a busy Los Angeles freeway in the 90s.

We may be unaware of our government's foreign policies, but the devastation in our streets is unavoidable. Yet, we do nothing, and I don't understand.

Hickel's research is insightful, and I hope there is more work building on his findings.
