The problem is the US and Europe want more than appeasement. China and Russia were as willing as the US to work together, but the West wanted more than profit and cheap products.

China continues pursuing communism and Russia has a strategic national agenda, and this scares the US. Whether China or Russia want global domination or to simply pursue objectives, the US feels threatend by their motives because they are independent of the US.

Being as though the nations won't adhere to every demand, the US instigates costly wars, cyberwarfare, social unrest, etc., and naturally, this pisses China and Russia off.

Taiwan has been sitting there for 70 years, and suddenly, China is giving up on diplomacy to invade? That's interesting.
