The media hated the movie because it blatantly displayed their lack of climate change reporting and disregard for reality. The Rolling Stone's journalist could have used the film to press the importance of climate change mitigation, but instead, downplayed it. What a surprise.
My non-American friends didn't enjoy the movie, but I understand why. The film depicted US culture and government, and you'd have to be aware of current US policies, behavior, and politics to grasp the specific details. I thought the movie perfectly narrowed in on the aspects of American life.
Also, I'm mostly baffled by what I see around me. Nothing makes sense.
