The GOP's smugness is the least of concerns. This is the second election in which the candidates are more disliked than liked; Clinton and Trump in 2016 were the first.

Democrats have become so antidemocratic that they no longer scrutinize candidates or encourage alternative party leadership and ideas to flourish. Their irresponsible and deceptive actions put us in a bind because they don't care that the polling data exposed a large majority's low confidence and concern for Biden's health. They rule, and the public endure the repercussions of their decisions.

They set us up to fail, and the public is so debased that it defends a political party instead of demanding people-centered candidates. Trump accelerates the nation's decline, and the Democrats won't stop it, but the country has been headed in the same direction for decades. We should stop blaming a party and accuse the failed government instead.

Individualism and arrogance prohibit us from collective organization, tolerance, civil discussions, and introspection. Unfortunately, wealthy, educated Democrat voters' elitism and disregard for class struggles maintain the destructive system because they know what's best and everyone should listen to them.
