Survival instincts trigger selfishness, violence, and insecurities that force adapting to our environment, but we aren't innately any of these things. We're highly adaptable, and we confuse innate traits with this ability.

We created a sink-or-swim civilization forcing us to live in flight-or-fight, but this isn't our natural state, and it doesn't have to be like this.

Imagine if there weren't anti-depressants and other drugs to aid us!
