People don't know anything because the major news outlets don't do their job and report the history and impacts of global events.

The US is responsible for the world's nuclear proliferation. Instead of disarmament, countries will invest in nukes because the US continues to expand its arsenal. Everyone will have weapons of mass destruction to prevent attacks, which may evade (or delay) nuclear war but isn't a safe deterrent.

World domination is an insane, unachievable goal, but reason has never been an American concept. Nothing is impossible when you're exceptionally delusional.
