Our acceptance of social murder is disturbing.

"Oh well. What can you do? We had to get the economy back on its feet. If a thousand people died, so be it. That's the way it goes. Besides, most deaths were among the obese and elderly."

Insanity. We can't even imagine the existence of an economic system that doesn't require unnecessary deaths, and somehow obesity and age justify the murders.

We're sick. Really sick.
