Oh, Putin isn't a saint! I wouldn't be surprised if Russian oligarchs are beyond this too, but I couldn't find any information to support that claim. There have been moments when the USSR tried to mend relationships with the West, and briefly after it collapsed Russia tried too, but we don't want peace if it means we can't secure wealth for the capitalists.

That's exactly my point. Innocent people suffer at the hands of the US. The military protects capitalist interests - it doesn't defend democracy.

Many Americans believe the US is always on the side of justice, and we forget there are two sides to every story. How anyone could believe the US protects American and the world's well-being is beyond me. We're always killing people!
