Oh, my. I relate. I am 41, not old but not young. I've been playing soccer since I was five, and it's becoming harder (more painful) to continue.

The torn cartilage in my knee and hip scream stop while my head tells me to keep playing. My body will win the battle, forcing me to retire, but then, what?

Soccer has been my best friend, my only outlet for decades, and the thought of letting it go brings me to tears.

Life is simultaneously saying hello and goodbye, enjoying new beginnings while mourning the past.

I wish you the best on your journey. xo
