Oh, definitely. The US attempted a coup in 2020 but failed almost as badly as the Bay of Pigs debacle. Venezuela arrested the idiots before their boat reached the shore, and John Bolton, the murderous moron, admitted he orchestrated the coup.
Guaidó never ran for president, yet he claimed the role, and the US backed him until his party turned on him in 2022. Not every Venezuelan supports Maduro, and many perceive Guaidó as a US puppet, but Maduro was democratically elected, and the US has no right to meddle.
The upcoming Venezuelan election will be interesting. Undoubtedly, the US has been concocting a "soft" coup and disseminating propaganda, but Latin Americans are acutely aware of the US games.
I lived in Central and South America, and they never lose sight of who's oppressing them. Their capitalist fascists gain power with the help of the US, and the Latin American majority relentlessly fight back. They have endured US interventions for over a century.
The US is suspected of being behind Peru's recent coup and claimed support for the right-wing government that has been killing protesters. Evidence has yet to surface, but the US ambassador to Peru is a CIA agent. I wouldn't be surprised because this isn't anything unusual, yet many Americans are unaware.
The US also has experience blowing up pipelines - Nicaragua can tell you all about it. The US rules-based nonsense doesn't allow countries to establish an equitable socio-economic structure and punishes them when they break the rules. It's so brutal.
Venezuela has oil and socialism - I'd be shocked if the US doesn't invade them again.
