Not just nations - all of humanity! Disturbing attacks on a population should elicit innate disgust and opposition.

We created laws and institutions to prohibit crimes against humanity because we we're horrified by WWII (the atomic bombs, mass deaths, Holocaust, and tortures).

Yet, here we are, dehumanizing ourselves and others to make sense of senseless violence. I've never felt so jaded, and the existential dread is permanent.

Hopefully, you are managing this unbearable moment as best you can. At least Thanksgiving is in a few weeks, and we can look forward to the side dishes (turkey is boring) and random jovial chats (unless you have a racist uncle). Perhaps banning political and foreign policy discussions will diminish fiery debates and allow everyone to feel blissfully ignorant for a few hours. What else can we hope for?
