Asking questions or evaluating historical events aren’t important because history never repeats itself. Anyone suggesting the US should have considered Russia’s most pressing concern is somehow a Russian asset, pro-war, anti-American, propagandist, and idolizes Putin. It’s happening again — 9/11 forced patriotism and conformity. If you’re not with us, you’re against us, and you’re a traitor, and it wouldn’t be surprising if we’re asked to report “Reds” to the authorities again.

Before Russia invaded, a Labour party leader threatened to suspend eleven politicians who signed a Stop the War statement that criticized NATO and UK’s failed diplomatic peace policies. A Labour member told reporters, “you can be a mouthpiece for the Kremlin or a Labour MP, but not both,” and the politicians retracted their signatures from the twenty-year anti-war coalition. Activists could tattoo their forehead, ‘Russia’s aggression is horrifically wrong,’ but it's not good enough if they include all wars in their protests.

Previously, US government agencies assassinated, imprisoned, or vilified activists, but now, the corporate media does a fine job of slandering and concealing truths. American politicians also endure smear campaigns, but their…
