My dad brought me to Manzanar (WWII Japanese concentration camp) when I was a kid to show me another side of the US. In high school, I worked for a Japanese WWII vet and Manzanar survivor. It didn't make sense that he fought for the US after our government abused and incarcerated him, but the US was his beloved home. Perhaps, he had the same sentiment as your Latino friend.

Biden's State of the Union sounded like a conservative president's speech, yet Democrats cheered for his (and Trump's) ruthless and cruel border ideas. There isn't a difference between the parties; they're both fascists, right-wing sycophants.

The Global Left (genuine socialists, environmentalists, antiwar advocates, etc.) have not regained their strength since the Cold War, and the German government is reverting to totalitarianism. The US is leading this movement.

It won't be long until we're in the camps, and it's unlikely we won't play Uno together because I'll be in an Australian camp. 😒

We need the social with the science to call it economics.
