Maybe in Western nations, but colonialism and imperialism denied the global south democracy. These countries haven't had an opportunity to develop independently, but things are changing, and it'll be interesting to see what they create.

It's depressing. There are people in our neighborhoods who are skipping meals to pay bills while the fortunate-born buy space, Twitter, governments, and whatever they want. Things will implode if we keep heading in this direction because social resentment, anger, violence, and discontent will force change.

Unfortunately, I think we'll find this out the hard way, and it won't be peaceful.
