Max, the source of my agony isn't the same as yours, but I relate to the anger, resentment, and grief of a culture/population. I persistently feel guilt and an impulse to apologize for US interventions, and I loathe American arrogance, but elites and governments don't represent the people.

Propaganda shapes ideas and identities and discourages nonconforming perspectives, while censorship silences opposition. Yet, people risk job loss and defamation to report the truth.

Jewish associations like the JVP orchestrate mass protests, Nora Barrows-Friedman dedicates her life to exposing Palestinian struggles via the Electronic Intifada, and Norman Finklestein unapologetically condemns Israel. They are only some of the Jewish advocates for Palestine, but there are numerous.

Dissent is hard to find because the corporate media won't interview people who don't spew the chosen narrative, but they exist. xo
