John, are you 100% positive the US media and politicians undoubtedly know Putin's plan is to take over Ukrainie and/or Eastern Europe? Is any other theory possible?

I don't believe Russia is capable of taking over the country and expanding further. Installing puppet governments is a viable option, but if Putin attempted to rule all of Ukraine, Ukrainians would never stop fighting. It'd be the dumbest, wasteful, costly failure.

Western reports found Crimea prefers to stay with Russia. The predominantly Russian population encountered violent clashes with Ukrainian nationalists, but the violence ended when Crimea came under Russia. This isn't my opinion - I'm summarizing the report.

We don't know what's best for Ukrainians, but I assume they want peace because the traumas of war are horrific. It's humanity at its worst, and if you've ever met civilians from wartorn countries you'd know that casualties aren't just the death toll.
