It's unfortunate Gray Davis was set up by Enron. The lovely company wanted him gone because he was going to make California's energy state-owned. There are recorded discussions about the coup, and I see the same thing happening again now.

This is the Republicans sixth attempt to recall Newsom, and five were before the pandemic. I don't think the recall came from the residents of California - I'm pretty sure corporate interests and Republicans created the frenzy. The whole thing is manufactured and designed to make Californians react.
