It's mindboggling that people still believe the US gives a shit about anyone but Western companies. Our government won't protect us from the gun violence in our streets or provide healthcare and affordable housing, yet it cares about Ukrainians.

How quickly we forget or disregard Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and Syria. The Western-backed president of Niger served the West, not Nigeriens, and AFRICOM trained the military that overthrew the government, which backfired on the US. Still, no one asks why the Global South is poor yet resource-rich. Perhaps racism, indifference, or both cloud our minds.

The USSR and African nations have had a strong relationship since the decolonization movement, and Russia maintained good ties. It didn't colonize the world like the West.
