It won't happen for a few decades, and the US doesn't "print" most of the money. It's digital, so it can delete them with ease.

US debt owed to foreign countries is less than GDP, and it can repay this the same way; digitally. Domestic debt is owed to the US, so it doesn't have to repay itself.

Eventually, Americans will pay the true cost of goods, and I doubt wages will increase. Some people are buying gold to secure wealth, and this might be a good idea if you have a lot of cash, but I don't know what the US will do to secure dollar dominance.

The US may struggle to fund its wars, but I don't know how things will pan out. There are a lot of smart and evil people attempting to maintain dollar hegemony.
