In 2020, 80 million Americans did not vote in the presidential election, yet it was the most significant voter turnout in over 100 years. Motivating this cohort to participate is more productive than bashing engaged voters, but galvanizing the disengaged requires collective action, not keyboard warriors.
We don't demand a democratic election process or candidates who deserve our support because we aren't empowered and have forgotten how to collectivize. We should wage war against the failing political system instead of each other and establish a structure that withstands undemocratic policies.
Unfortunately, we'll accept two of the most unpopular candidates in history and blame each other for the outcome instead of the system that created it.
Scott, your vote shouldn't anger the public, but our political system should. The structure is broken if one person can destroy a nation's democracy, and the focus should be on repairing it, but we prefer collective blame instead of action.
I wouldn't let our government look after my pets, yet we trust it to care for a nation.
