I'm not sure what to believe. I've never noticed so much propaganda in the media. Supposedly, Zelensky invited foreign volunteers to join the fight against Russia, and that's terrifying if it's true.

I don't think Russia's intention is to takeover Ukraine completely, but I know as much as anyone. Maybe creating chaos will push NATO out of Ukraine indefinitely, and make it rethink its position. I also think the global display of (especially for the Global South) pushing back on the US has a lot of significance. There's been so many anti-US imperialism protests over the last 4 years, and things are only escalating in Africa and Latin America.

Best case scenario, Russia and the US work towards an amicable relationship, and Putin steps down, but that's wishful thinking.
