I'd be paranoid if I were Kim Jung Un. The US/Western militaries carpet bombed and committed mass atrocities throughout Korea. They severed the nation, isolating the North and separating families indefinitely, yet 80% of the population supported the post-Japanese occupation economic system.
Many Koreans want reunification despite their oppressive governments, and South Koreans protest against the US military base. Okinawa also demands an end to the US presence, stating the base makes the city a target and unsafe.
Meanwhile, the US engages in war simulations, provoking North Korea and China. The answer is simple - stop escalating and instigating conflicts, and try diplomacy. Current tactics repeatedly fail, yet our governments won't attempt the only strategy it hasn't tried.
The world still suffers from unresolved colonialist and imperialist ramifications. China understands peace is financially lucrative for the Chinese economy. The US and West would benefit from stability yet pursue wars to enrich and empower a few.
We assume every nation seeks global tyrant rule yet never asks what anyone wants. Is it unbelievable that the world prefers peace and progress through reasonable economic and security agreements over violent conflicts?
