I wonder if Castro feared Cienfuegos had been corrupted by US intervention policies. It would be so difficult to keep the CIA out of Cuban politics and trust the intentions of politicians.

The US continually attempts to overthrow politicians and elections in Latin America - how do we know who's legitimate? The US has done some horrific things across the world, and from what I've in experienced in South America it never ends.
