I think they know forever growth isn't sustainable if our energy source transitions. They continue to invest in new oil and gas projects to maintain the global economic model.

We need new grids and more RE supply, and it would create jobs, but the fossil fuel industry and mindless, endless consumption profits can't continue.

We'd have to reconsider the meaning of economic growth, and therefore, capitalism's current model. Sadly, I don't see them doing anything to disrupt the broken system.
