I learned US foreign policy was fascistic when I was 23 and traveling abroad in 2004. Unlearning the sugar-coated shit we're force-fed from childhood was a challenging process, but I still fell for Obama's "hope and change" in 2008.
I realized Obama and the Democrat's virtuousness was bullshit after he bailed out the banks and ordered the removal of the Occupy Wall Street protesters. Trump's first presidency demonstrated that I wasn't alone in my anger and motivated me to review history through an alternative narrative.
Propaganda has intensified under Biden, and it makes me feel like I'm going insane because we're all living in a different reality. I don't know who knows what, and older family members' understanding of events varies significantly from mine and my niece and nephews.
My views of humanity have been similar to yours, but I genuinely believe we're adaptable and adapt to survive the manufactured, profits-at-all-costs civilization. Nothing is authentic; we've detached from each other, ourselves, and the environment, existing in a pseudo-reality that forces us to conform or relentlessly fight. It's exhausting.
However, we don't deserve to be here on Earth - this planet is too good for humanity, and we fucked it and ourselves.
Peace exists when I lose myself in nature and forget the psychopathic world that we created. I hope you have your peaceful moments because this shit is mind-exploding.
