I grew up in Los Angeles and was a teenager in the 90s, but I didn't watch Kid 90 for Soleil or to remember my teenager days. She is whoever she is, and that's her story. We all have one, but what intrigued me was life before social media and cell phones.

It made me think about the differences in freedom I had as a teenager/kid from young people today, and the effect of the social media on society today. The 90s were the last decade of not existing on the internet. The experience of witnessing amateur footage of a time we can't access via our social media timeline, digital photos, etc. was unique. Everything we do is forever captured on the internet, and it's interesting to evaluate the pre internet social differences.
