I don't think it does for the rich and powerful, but I think Trump showed us politicians can push the envelope instead of pandering. Maybe that's why Biden has been more aggressive - I don't know. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad, but maybe the Dems will get tougher on their policies.
