I don't get the opportunity to vote in CA primaries because I'm registered as an Independent, and if this isn't voter suppression, I don't know what is.

I'm an American and Australian citizen, so I vote in both countries. Australia has campaign finance restrictions, two major parties, preferential and mandatory voting, and numerous independent parties. I'm not sure I believe in mandatory voting, but the system is so much better than in the US.

The Prime Minister grew up in social housing, and many independents won seats in the last election because you don't have to be rich to be a politician. Things are far from perfect in Australia, but they're less bad than in the US.

Hopefully, we can update our election process.
