I agree, and it's frustrating. However, voting is not virtue signaling, and choosing your preferred candidate is not a protest vote. Half the country will vote for Harris solely because she's not Trump, but she hasn't proposed policies to encourage the public and doesn't have to.
The Democrats won't change the country's course but will delay the inevitable, and another Trump presidency would be a nightmare. Yet, a national evaluation of why people support Trump has not been assessed, and it's only a matter of time before someone worse appeals to the disenchanted.
Sanders may not have governed better than Biden, but his campaign started a movement that could have minimized the hopelessness and encouraged activism. Unfortunately, we'll never know because the Democrats don't acknowledge or strengthen social movements like Occupy Wall Street, BLM, antiwar protests, etc.
Neither party deserves our support or cares about us, and I wonder who's leading the nation because Biden isn't.
