Haha. I grew up south of Santa Monica, but I left LA and visit once a year to see family, etc. The place is more depressing every time I see it, and I leave feeling radicalized.

It's horrifying, and I no longer wonder why my high school friends are alcoholics and addicts. Even if we ignore the devastation, it has a toll on our mental health.
