I know when to stand up to a bully and when to resolve the matter peacefully, but conflicts between countries aren't as straightforward.

There's no end in sight for the Israel and Palestine conflict because they have been fighting for decades and can't/won't agree to a peace settlement. So, the deaths continue until someone wipes the other out. What a horrendous existence.

Ukraine and Russia's war isn't as complicated as Israel-Palestine, but a prolonged conflict increases the death toll, complicating negotiations.

Governments must attempt to resolve conflicts and avoid wars, or we always live in fear.
