It’s the lack of funding for the scientists who have been screaming their heads off about the likelihood of a pandemic occurring, yet their funding stripped because we no longer invest in anything but quick cash returns. We’re participating in an unrewarding system perversely contradicting our best interests. Is it really that difficult to develop strategic economic planning with positive externalities? Is it too much to ask?
