Greed: The Only Deadly Sin Our Governments Know

Are we ever going to return to the time the government worked for us? How do we get the power back in our hands? Will the next government change paths? Are we stuck in this nightmare forever?

It’s not the pandemic causing depression, it’s this ideological economic agenda and the social constraints making us feel perpetually inadequate. It’s the lack of funding for the scientists who have been screaming their heads off about the likelihood of a pandemic occurring, yet their funding stripped because we no longer invest in anything but quick cash returns. We’re participating in an unrewarding system perversely contradicting our best interests. Is it really that difficult to develop strategic economic planning with positive externalities? Is it too much to ask?

Covid offers a unique moment to reshape our economy and strategically invest in the innovative technology providing long-term health, wealth, and security. Devising policies and ideas for novel jobs and industries mitigating the devastating fires, droughts, air quality, pollution, and land degradation is the key to long-term economic stability.
