Foreign debt can be paid and many countries owe money to the US. The US can buy anything the US produces. Does the credit rating hurt Japan? I don't know the answers to everything (obviously), but our current system is not working. Perhaps it's time to look at the economic theories and economists advising new solutions to our problems today.
