Fascism arises from austerity, and we've endured decades of it. The Democrats have to improve our economic situation or people will continually agree with the psycho assholes that immigrants are taking our jobs. 🙄

If Americans struggle to afford living costs, they won't support the funds for Ukraine and may resent the Democrats. I believe this is what happened in 2016. Obama continued the Bush admin's policy of bailing out the banks and corporations, and voter backlash gave us Trump.

Identity and moral issues are a political excuse for our failing economy. If our government invested in the public, providing stability and security a lot of tensions would diminish. That's not to say racism would disappear, but it would reduce blaming "others" for the declining living standards.
