Everything we know is from second-hand, biased sources, so I take everything with a grain of salt. I don't believe Zelensky's claim that 97% of Ukrainians support the war. Eastern Ukrainians wanted independence from the government before the invasion, and that figure is unrealistic.

Pre-invasion reports stated numerous neo-nationalist, far-right, Nazi groups influenced Ukraine's politics, and court hearings referenced their involvement in the 2014 Maidan crisis. Ukrainians preferred anonymity because they feared retaliation if they mentioned the details publicly, but we don't hear from Ukrainians who express a conflicting narrative anyway. I also read far-right groups threatened Zelensky, forcing him to incorporate their demands - again, who knows?

I don't doubt there are neo-nationalists. The civil war after Maidan implies this, and the OSCE collected data on violence in Eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Undeniable Western reports reveal Crimea prefers the Russian over the Ukrainian government, so I hope it gets a say in its future.

Some Western articles (I believe El Pais - a Spanish outlet published info on this) claimed Russia evacuated children in Eastern Ukraine before combat and protected Ukrainians who don't support the Kyiv government. There was a civil war in this region before Russia invaded, and the residents may have provided Russia with info, support, etc. The Ukrainian military killing Ukrainians who aided Russia isn't unlikely, so again, who the F knows? Ha.

The only thing I'm sure of is every party is biased. Oh, and there's NAFO - North Atlantic Fellas Organization. They're a Ukrainian propaganda group or a Russian disinformation movement (depending on your perspective), and their claims are always incorrect and misleading. Unfortunately, a lot of people cite their statements without realizing it.

The world is mad - that's for sure.
