European leaders organized and deployed a peacekeeping force in Yugoslavia, which threatened NATO's future and purpose. A united Europe, collaborating and seeking peace without US involvement could demonstrate NATO's irrelevancy.

The US disregarded Europe's peaceful resolution goal and bombed the fuck out of civilians to showoff NATO's strength and capabilities and destroy the socialist state.
